The City of Greensburg will welcome several new hires this month.

The city swore in its new solicitor, Zachary J. Kansler, at its agenda meeting Monday.

Kansler replaces the city’s previous solicitor, Bernard McArdle, who announced last month he would step down.

Kansler is a lawyer with Tremba, Kinney, Greiner and Kerr LLC, of Greensburg.

He serves as solicitor for several other municipalities, including Latrobe, Sewickley Township, Irwin, and South Greensburg.

Next week, city council will vote to hire a new planning director to replace Barbara Ciampini, who was fired in February.

The city has not released the names of any of the planning director candidates.

Council also will vote next week on hiring two new seasonal recreation officials — a baseball coordinator and soccer coordinator. Each will make $1,000 for the spring season.
