A Greensburg woman is facing felony child endangerment charges after police said she gave four children psychedelic mushrooms and allowed them to hang out the windows of a vehicle while she drove, according to court papers filed Wednesday.
The incident was captured on video shared through social media app Snapchat, authorities said.
Greensburg police began investigating in April and were told the allegations stemmed from a camping trip in June 2024 at Linn Run State Park. The children told investigators Christa L. Kuhns, 35, gave them mushrooms that made them feel delusional and not like themselves, police said in court papers.
The Snapchat video showed them sitting on the door frames of a moving vehicle and leaning out the windows. The children told police Kuhns was behind the wheel. Detective Garret McNamara said they were between 14 and 16 years old at the time.
During a search of Kuhns’ home, police said they seized a handgun, a plastic bag containing mushroom residue and other drug-related items. Kuhns denied giving the drugs to the children during an interview with a Westmoreland County Children’s Bureau caseworker, police said.
She had not been arraigned and did not have an attorney listed in online court records. No court action was scheduled.
