The Greensburg YMCA will reopen Tuesday morning after being closed since Friday to allow staff to clean the building because someone using the YMCA day camp last week tested positive for covid-19.

All the member services, including the wellness center and swimming pool, will reopen at 6 a.m. Tuesday after a “deep sanitization” since Friday of all the surfaces with an anti-viral and anti-bacterial disinfectant, Suzanne Printz, YMCA interim director, said Monday. All rooms and areas were ventilated for 48 hours after disinfecting, then disinfected for a second time.

The YMCA will operate from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 6 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday.

Reservations will resume for pools and group exercise on Wednesday. The locker rooms still will not be available for use.

Members will be able to use the gymnasium and family changing area bathrooms because the Y Day Camp will remain closed this week, the YMCA said. The person who tested positive had been involved with the summer youth camp, Printz said.

The state Department of Health notified the YMCA on Friday about positive test result.
