The Lamp Theatre will be transformed into a local branch of Hogwarts on Sunday when the downtown Irwin venue plays host to a Harry Potter-themed party and film screening.

Doors open at 1 p.m. for the family-friendly event, followed by a 2 p.m. showtime for “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.”

Those attending are invited to dress up in the spirit of the Potter-verse when they arrive to enjoy games, a scavenger hunt, a “potion” show, a wizard marketplace, character meet-and-greets and photo opportunities.

“I hope people can come and enjoy a few hours of feeling like they are in another world while creating incredible memories together,” said event organizer Stephanie Babich Mihleder.

Event proceeds will benefit the Latrobe 4th of July Celebration, a free festival set for July 4-5 at Latrobe’s Legion Keener Park. Themed cocktail and concession stand purchases will benefit The Lamp.

Select the “Harry Potter Party” heading at latrobecelebration.com for more information and registration. General admission tickets are $10 for kids age 14 or younger and $15 for adults. VIP tickets are available for $25.
