Police chased a man Wednesday afternoon from Jeannette to Penn Township where he crashed his vehicle and hid underneath a mobile home in Claridge, according to Penn Township Police Chief John Otto.

There was a heavy police presence and streets closed near Claridge Elliott Road until Greensburg K9 Falco located the suspect around 2:50 p.m. near the post office and Denmark and Blocks roads.

The incident started when Greensburg officers went to Jeannette to talk to the man, who had warrants out for his arrest, Otto said. The man, who was not identified by police, allegedly took off and drove into Penn Township and crashed into a utility pole on Claridge Elliott Road.

He fled on foot into a wooded area and Falco tracked him over a hillside to the mobile home, Otto said. Greensburg police took the suspect away but Otto said township officers will be filing their own set of criminal charges.
