Two people were rescued after their car went over a hillside in Donegal Township on Tuesday night, Westmoreland County dispatchers said.

At least one person was taken by helicopter to a local hospital, emergency officials said, after a crash near the intersection of Route 31 and Green Acres Lane shortly after 9:30 p.m.

Information on the extent of injuries was not available.

A helicopter landing zone was set up at the Donegal Community Center after the car went over an embankment and at least two passengers were trapped. It was unclear if there were more people in the car, dispatchers said.
