Kimberlie Rieffannacht was previously named interim superintendent of Hempfield Area School District on Wednesday, November 1, 2023.

Hempfield Area Superintendent Tammy Wolicki will remain on a leave for another three months for unspecified reasons, school board members said Monday.

The board approved interim superintendent Kimberlie Rieffannacht to remain in her role while Wolicki is off.

Rieffannacht is the assistant superintendent for elementary education in the district. Her role as interim superintendent was originally approved in November and Wolicki was expected to return last week.

Wolicki’s leave of absence and Rieffannacht’s time leading the district were both extended to March 31 by the school board.

In November, Bob Reger, the district’s director of human resources, confirmed that Wolicki was taking a leave of absence and was not leaving the district. Rieffannacht said Monday that she could not comment on the topic.

Wolicki was appointed as Hempfield’s superintendent in 2017. Her contract was renewed in 2021 and runs through June 2027.

Rieffannacht, who joined the district in October 2020, will continue to receive an additional $100 stipend per day on top of her existing salary.
