A Hempfield man was denied bail Friday after state police said he intentionally rammed a vehicle waiting at a school bus stop.

Casey D. Anthony, 32, is charged with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, harassment and related offenses.

Troopers said Anthony intentionally drove a pickup truck with an attached trailer into another vehicle around 4:30 p.m. March 5 at a bus stop at Windgate Drive and Liberty Hill Road in the township after yelling at the driver about a protection from abuse order. The other vehicle had a woman and girl inside, according to court papers.

Police did not say in court papers if the two were hurt. A public information officer was not available. The protection from abuse order was related to a case filed by a relative of Anthony’s, not either of the two people in the vehicle that was hit, according to court papers.

A warrant was issued for his arrest March 5 and Anthony was arraigned Friday. Court records indicate he was denied bail to ensure the safety of the woman and girl who were in the hit vehicle.

He was being held at the Westmoreland County Prison. A preliminary hearing is set for March 26. He did not have an attorney listed in online court records.
