A man with experience working in Hempfield’s public works department announced his candidacy for township supervisor.

Tony DeGregorio said he will seek nomination on the Republican ticket. In an announcement, he said he has more than 20 years of experience as a township employee.

“As a supervisor, I will listen to the voters of this great township and not the special interest groups,” he said in the announcement.

DeGregorio said he hopes to look at a number of issues if elected, including adding portable speed bumps to residential areas, road and bridge conditions, the township’s plans to take over management of all of its volunteer fire departments and how an annual surplus is used.
