Hempfield school board members will host state Rep. Eric Nelson, R-Hempfield, at Monday’s committee of the whole meeting.

Located in the district administration building, 4347 Route 136, officials will discuss cyber charter schools, mental and behavior health counseling support and property tax reform.

“It’s really going to be kind of just an open dialogue to discuss priorities and perspectives to learn from the board,” Nelson said.

He added that he has met with school boards like Hempfield and Greensburg Salem in the past because “it’s important to sit down and listen and have a dialogue.”

Hempfield Board President Tony Bompiani said officials also will discuss ways districts can partner together to save money and resources.

The public meeting starts at 5:30 p.m.
