On this Father’s Day weekend, here are a variety of events to excite any dad, from beer lovers to history buffs.

Frontier Court Days

For a peek into history, check out Historic Hanna’s Town this weekend for Frontier Court Days. On Saturday and Sunday, go back to a time when Hanna’s Town was the seat of Westmoreland County government and examine its unique role in the Revolutionary War.

Events will be held both days from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $12 for adults, $6 for children and free for those aged five and under. A family pass will be $30 on Saturday and $20, for Father’s Day, on Sunday. Please bring cash for admission.

The weekend will have court case reenactments, activities for kids, demonstrations and displays, military drills and more.

Historic Hanna’s Town is located at 809 Forbes Trail Road, Greensburg. To find out more about the schedule of events, check out westmorelandhistory.org.

Craft beer festival

With 20 breweries in attendance, the Greensburg Craft Beer Festival will have old and new favorite beers for everyone. The event was organized as a part of Greensburg Craft Beer Week and will be held this Saturday.

Attendees can enjoy food for purchase, live music and games, plus plenty of brews, of course. General admission tickets are $40, with entry at 4 p.m., and early entry tickets ($55) and VIP tickets ($65) allow for 3 p.m. entry. There are also $10 tickets for designated drivers.

Breweries in attendance will include Brew Gentlemen, Dancing Gnome, Laurel Highlands Meadery and many more. The festival is 21+.

The Greensburg Craft Beer Festival will be held at St. Clair Park, 132 N. Maple Ave., Greensburg. To view all the breweries and get tickets, visit greensburgcraftbeerweek.com.

Death of a Salesman

Arthur Miller’s classic play will be performed at the Lamp Theatre this Friday and Saturday night at 8 p.m. Telling the story of Willy Loman, “Death of a Salesman” is a look at mid-century life through the eyes of one man who struggles with change.

The play is being staged by Split Stage Productions in collaboration with The Lamp Theatre at 222 Main St., Irwin. Tickets for each performance are $25 apiece. Purchase them online at lamptheatre.org.

Bill Henry Band

This week at SummerSounds, groove the night away with the Bill Henry Band. The group blends funk, blues, R&B and rock to get even the most stubborn toes tapping. With a group of excellent musicians, including horns, the Bill Henry Band will heat up this Friday’s summer evening.

The band will take the stage at 7 p.m., with pre-show music by Aristotle Jones beginning at 6:15 p.m. The show will be held at St. Clair Park, 132 N. Maple Ave., Greensburg. Learn more about the SummerSounds concert series at summersounds.com.

Living history weekend

Explore the “dirty jobs” of the 18th and 19th centuries at the Compass Inn Museum this Saturday and Sunday. Step back in time to live history with demonstrations and reenactments that will help participants learn about work in the past.

There will be activities from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and an authentic 18th-century church service will be offered at 9 a.m. Sunday for free and open to all. The day will include children’s activities, historical interpreters, cooking and blacksmith demonstrations, tours of the historic inn and more. It is a weekend suitable for all ages and filled with both fun and learning.

Admission is $14 for adults, $12 for individuals aged 62 and older, and $10 for children aged six to 18. The museum is located at 1386 US-30, Laughlintown. To learn more, visit compassinn.org.
