The warmup has arrived — at least for the moment. Residents should take the weekend to bask in the 45-degree weather and head outdoors for several events across Westmoreland County.

Donnie Iris and the Cruisers

Pittsburgh’s legendary singer-songwriter Donnie Iris takes the stage with his band, The Cruisers, at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Palace Theatre, 21 W. Otterman St., Greensburg.

Iris, who wrote The Jaggerz’ classic hit “The Rapper,” captured the hearts of Pittsburghers with anthems like “Love Is Like a Rock” and “Ah! Leah!”

While the group performs less frequently than in years past, they continue to deliver high-energy rock shows for longtime fans. Tickets range from $38.50 to $135 and are available at westmorelandculturaltrust.org.

‘Camelot’ at St. Vincent College

The Saint Vincent College Players invite audiences to return to the magic and romance of Arthurian England with the classic musical “Camelot.”

The Tony Award-winning show premiered on Broadway in 1960 and features a timeless score that includes the ballad “If Ever I Would Leave You.”

Performances are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at the Robert S. Carey Student Center on the college’s campus in Unity. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under, with more information available at stvincent.edu.

Greensburg YMCA Winter Carnival

Families can enjoy a late Mardi Gras vibe at the Greensburg YMCA Winter Carnival from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday.

The free event at 101 S. Maple Ave. includes games, music and activities for all ages. A highlight of the evening is a “dive-in movie” featuring the Disney film “The Princess and the Frog,” allowing patrons to swim in the pool while the movie plays.

The carnival is open to the public, and no preregistration is required. Interested attendees can learn more at greensburgymca.org.

‘The Time Machine’ at the Geyer

Theater fans can also head to the Geyer Performing Arts Center in Scottdale for a reimagining of the H.G. Wells classic “The Time Machine.”

Directed by Loren McCullough, the production promises to thrill modern audiences with a tale of mystery and adventure.

Performances are set for 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the theater, 111 N. Pittsburgh St. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at geyerpac.com.

Bushy Run Battlefield History Speaks

History and film enthusiasts will gather Saturday at Bushy Run Battlefield in Penn Township for a “History Speaks” program.

Victor Dillon will lead a discussion starting at 1 p.m. regarding Hollywood’s portrayal of Pontiac’s War in the 1760s. The program includes clips from four films: “Unconquered,” “Battles of Chief Pontiac,” “A Light in the Forest” and the 2024 production “Love, Courage and the Battle of Bushy Run.”

Admission to the museum along Route 993 is $15 for nonmembers and $10 for members, with tickets available at bushyrunbattlefield.com.
