It’s a perfect weekend to enjoy the best things in life — nature, music, art and family. Here are a few ways to take your days off up a notch.
Garden council tour
Take a day to explore the thriving gardens of your Westmoreland County neighbors and learn about how they keep their spaces so beautiful. This garden tour will include nine gardens, giving attendees the opportunity to get inspiration and learn from fellow gardeners. This biennial tour’s theme is “A Day in the Tropics.”
Tickets can be purchased the day of the tour at the Westmoreland Garden Council’s office in the Greensburg Civic Center. They will be available from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at $30 apiece. The tour itself will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. To learn more, visit westmorelandgarden council.org.
Queen tribute
33 1/3, a group of musicians on a mission to faithfully recreate classic rock projects, are putting themselves to the test with “The Killer Queen Experience,” attempting to bring the magic of Queen’s studio recordings to life. This Sunday, they’ll perform live at the Lamp Theatre in Irwin.
They will play all of Queen’s legendary album “A Night at the Opera,” including some of classic rock’s most celebrated songs, such as “Bohemian Rhapsody.” Tickets for the show are $33. The show starts at 6 p.m. Sunday at the Lamp Theatre, 222 Main St., Irwin. For tickets, visit lamptheatre.org.
Summer Artisan Market
Have a relaxing summer Saturday at the Westmoreland Museum of American Art, where they’ll host their Summer Artisan Market. Available for purchase will be a variety of goods from local artists, from decorative pieces to jewelry to accessories and more. There will also be live music to soundtrack your shopping spree.
Don’t forget to fuel up with food from food trucks, including Mandu Handu, Mami’s Bakes, Popworld and Yappy Dawgs. The market will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and entry is free for all. Civil War weekend
Historic Hanna’s Town is taking it back to the 1860s with a packed weekend of Civil War events. On Saturday and Sunday, get ready to learn, engage and even dance along.
There will be a battle tactics reenactment held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, and the Saturday session will be followed by a Civil War concert from 5 to 6:30 p.m. The concert will be performed by the 46th Pennsylvania Regiment Band. There will also be other informative displays around the historical sites on a variety of topics.

SummerSounds
It’s time to get funky at the weekly free SummerSounds concert series. This Friday night, jam to the sweet music of Dylan Triplett.
Triplett is a seasoned soul and jazz musician with an impressive vocal range who will bring his blend of R&B, funk, jazz and soul to the stage at St. Clair Park. The show will start at 7 p.m., with pre-show music by Laura Rullo kicking off at 6:15 p.m.
