Spring is officially here. It’s time to leave winter behind and look forward to many warmer days (and nights) enjoying the outdoors. But while temperatures are still keeping us indoors, here are some events this weekend to keep you occupied around Westmoreland County.

Maxim Lando with the WSO

For the fourth time, young pianist Maxim Lando will return to the area to perform with the Westmoreland Symphony Orchestra. This fan favorite will continue to dazzle with Saturday’s program.

The performance will include Lando playing Saint-Saëns’ “Piano Concerto No. 2 in G minor.” In addition, the program will include Nico Muhly’s “Two Motets by William Byrd” and Beethoven’s “Symphony No. 7.”

The show will take place at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at The Palace Theatre, 21 W. Otterman St., Greensburg. Tickets range from $20-$75. Learn more and purchase tickets at westmorelandsymphony.org.

Health and Sports Fair

Start the spring off on a healthy note with this “Hempfield Cares” expo event. This fair will showcase the many health, wellness and fitness services available to residents of Hempfield and is free to the public.

Attendees can meet the professionals who provide physical, mental and emotional health services in the area, receive important health screenings and also view demonstrations of sports and fitness. Door prizes also are available: anyone who comes is entered to win tickets to the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Pittsburgh Penguins or one day of the U.S. Open.

The fair will be held 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday at Hempfield Park, 220 Forbes Trail Road. See more at hempfieldtwp.com.

Bob Seger tribute

This weekend, you have two chances to experience Hollywood Nights: The Bob Seger Experience. This tribute act brings to life all the grit and rock of ’70s and ’80s hitmaker Bob Seger at his best.

Rock out to songs including “Against the Wind,” “Turn the Page” and more. This tribute band is very do-it-yourself focused and committed to providing the best experience possible for fans.

Performances will be held at 8 p.m. on Saturday and 6 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are $44 each. Both shows will be held at the Lamp Theatre, 222 Main St., Irwin. To get tickets, visit lamptheatre.org.

Biennial art exhibit opening

The Greensburg Art Center will be opening their 2025 biennial art exhibit this Friday. With entries from local artists, this will be a can’t-miss display.

The exhibition will be open from this Friday until May 2 during the Center’s normal hours, but they will be holding an opening reception to celebrate this new juried show this Friday evening.

The reception will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Greensburg Art Center, 230 Todd School Road, Hempfield. To learn more about the center, visit greensburgartcenter.org.

Rhythm of the Dance

Keep the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day going with this two-hour celebration of Irish dance and art. Featuring a cast of step dancers, Irish singers, musicians and more, this show will reveal the dazzling artistic culture of Irish life.

Plus, with eye-popping multimedia aspects and new costumes, this performance is a visual marvel that will delight audiences new and old.

Tickets range from $38-$68. The show will be held at The Palace Theatre, 21 W. Otterman St., Greensburg, at 4 p.m. on Sunday. To get tickets, visit westmorelandculturaltrust.org.
