There might not be Steelers football this weekend, but there will still be plenty of chances to shop, listen, eat, play and enjoy the nice weather. Here are a few things to try out on your free days.

Delmont Apple ‘n Arts Festival

Fall into this autumn tradition with a little bit of everything. The Delmont Apple ‘n Arts Festival will take place on Saturday and Sunday at Shield’s Farm in Salem, and it’ll be a great time for the whole community.

There will be more than 100 arts, crafts and food vendors to browse and sample. Shop with local vendors, view antique farm equipment, chow down on tons of tasty food and don’t forget a seasonal favorite — fresh-pressed apple cider, made on an apple press from 1907.

In addition, don’t miss out on live entertainment, kids’ activities, an Apple Bake contest and more. The festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday at Shield’s Farm, Contact Place. Learn more at delmontapplenarts.com.

Greensburg Witches Gala

Celebrate everything magical and mystical at the Greensburg Witches Gala. Taking place in downtown Greensburg this Saturday, this will be a wickedly good time for all.

Watch a performance from The Dancing Witches of Westmoreland, check out spooky literature at The Haunted Library, learn about paranormal investigations with the Greensburg Ghost Society, shop local vendors and eateries, and even participate in costume and cackle contests.

The event will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday in downtown Greensburg. See a full schedule of events at shopgreensburgpa.com.

Watercolor exhibit

Beginning Saturday and running through the end of the month, Pittsburgh Watercolor Society’s 2025 Aqueous Open International Exhibition will be on display at the Latrobe Art Center in Latrobe.

This prestigious exhibition includes watercolor paintings from across the world, demonstrating all of the possibilities of watercolor with abstracts, realistic paintings and everything in between.

An opening reception will be held on Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the center, 819 Ligonier St. The event is free and open to the public. Come out to enjoy light refreshments and celebrate the show’s selections. Learn more at latrobeartcenter.org.

Tijuana Brass

River City Brass will bring a delightful tribute to Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass to the Palace Theatre this weekend, showing off their versatility with a program that will surely thrill the whole crowd.

Diving into timeless hits including “Tijuana Taxi,” “Zorba the Greek” and “Taste of Honey,” this brass ensemble will have you tapping your toes and shimmying your shoulders all show long.

The show will be held at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Palace Theatre, 21 W. Otterman St., Greensburg. Tickets are available at westmorelandculturaltrust.org.

‘American Revolution’ film at Fort Ligonier

For documentary fans and history buffs, this is a must-see event. On Sunday, Fort Ligonier will have a one-hour screening of new multi-part Ken Burns film “The American Revolution.”

In partnership with WQED Multimedia, Fort Ligonier will offer a free screening of an hour of the documentary. Filmed in 2023, a segment of the documentary was shot at Fort Ligonier, capturing the historical significance of the site and its importance to a pivotal time in our nation’s development.

The screening will take place at 3 p.m. Sunday at The Fort Ligonier Center for History Education, 200 S. Market St., Ligonier. For more information, check out fortligonier.org.
