Ready for some fun and games? Kick back and relax with these events this weekend, whether with your friends, family or just enjoying some alone time.

Ligonier Highland Games

On Saturday, the region will celebrate Scottish games, music, food and dance at Idlewild and SoakZone with the 2025 Ligonier Highland Games. Many aspects of Scottish culture will be on display during the event.

That includes a set of heavy athletics competitions, drumming and piping competitions, a shortbread contest, events for kids, a ladies’ haggis hurling competition, fiddling, harps, a tartan hunt, highland dancing and more. Those attending don’t need to buy admission to Idlewild, 2574 Lincoln Highway in Ligonier Township, unless you want to ride park rides.

Beer and Scottish food vendors will be on site, as well as available park concessions. Gates open at 8 a.m. Saturday, and events will continue throughout the day. For more information, visit ligonierhighlandgames.org.

Vicki Lawrence and Mama

Join beloved actress and comedian Vicki Lawrence for an afternoon of laughs at the Palace Theatre in Greensburg on Sunday. After spending years on “The Carol Burnett Show,” Lawrence was the star of hit television series “Mama’s Family” from 1983 to 1990.

This show will be in two parts, with Lawrence bringing a set of observational comedy and music to start with, and Mama taking the stage for the second half. And this isn’t the Mama of the past — the beloved character will have plenty to say about modern-day topics as well.

The show will start at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Palace Theatre, 21 W. Otterman St., Greensburg. Tickets range from $50 to $90. To get yours, visit westmorelandculturaltrust.org.

Jeannette Glass City Heritage Festival

Jeannette will celebrate its past as the Glass City at this festival Saturday. Attendees can enjoy live music — including a performance from the Jeannette Community Band — as well as glass blowing demonstrations. Other music, as well as vendors, activities, pumpkin painting, face painting, raffles, games and more will make up the festival’s fun.

The event will take place in the 400 and 500 blocks of Clay Avenue in Jeannette from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The festival will have fun for all ages. Learn more at the Jeannette Business Association’s Facebook page.

Art on Tap

Those with a passion for fashion will love this month’s Art on Tap at the Westmoreland Museum of American Art. This month’s theme is “Creative Couture.”

That means an exploration of wearable art from local designers in the galleries, a museumwide scavenger hunt, signature cocktails and a toast by the museum’s celebrity designer, Michael Nolan Kouri. There also will be auction items and, while supplies last, attendees will receive a free accessory item.

Don’t forget to wear your high fashion haute couture. Tickets are $12 for members and $15 for nonmembers, and the event is for those 21 and older. Art on Tap will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Westmoreland Museum of American Art, 221 N. Main St., Greensburg. Learn more at thewestmoreland.org.

‘The Lion King’ movie at Geyer Performing Arts Center

Bring the whole family for an old-fashioned movie night. The Geyer Performing Arts Center in Scottdale will show a Disney classic — the 1994 animated “The Lion King” — Saturday night.

Featuring catchy songs, an all-star voice cast and beautiful animation, “The Lion King” is beloved by generations. Tickets for this show are $10 each. The event will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Geyer Performing Arts Center, 111 Pittsburgh St., Scottdale. Get tickets at geyerpac.com.
