The last official weekend of summer is upon us.
Fall is coming Monday, so plan your next few days around these events to enjoy the last moments of the season.
Rod Stewart tribute
Singer Rod Stewart has enjoyed a decades-long music career, performing rock to adult contemporary and beyond. This Friday, a live band will perform music from Stewart’s discography at the Palace Theatre in Greensburg.
The band is packed with former Stewart collaborators and will be led by singer Rob Caudill, whose imitation of Stewart’s highly recognizable and unique voice is spot-on. With hits from several decades, everyone will be pleased with the variety of tunes played by Tonight’s the Night.

Sunday Fun Day: Hispanic Heritage Month
Explore and celebrate many aspects of Hispanic cultures and histories at the Westmoreland Museum of American Art this Sunday as they celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month.
The event, which will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., will include live performances, dance, art-making, a curated selection of books by Hispanic authors, photography, a Roberto Clemente feature, local food trucks and more.
Attendees also will get the opportunity to explore the museum at 221 N. Main St., Greensburg, including current exhibits. Admission to the event is free. Learn all the details at thewestmoreland.org.
Historic House Tour
The Westmoreland Historical Society organized this event, which will allow residents to explore and examine historical homes in the Delmont area. This self-guided tour will take participants through beautifully restored homes where they will learn the details of the houses’ history and features. Guides and homeowners will be on hand to inform visitors about each building.
The tour will include private homes as well as historic landmarks. Tickets will be $25 in advance and $30 on the day. To learn more and get tickets, visit westmorelandhistory.org.
GI Canteen for a Day
On Sunday, the Lamp Theatre in Irwin will honor veterans of the U.S. military from all eras with a daylong event. Opening ceremonies will begin at 1 p.m., and throughout the afternoon guests can experience World War II newsreels, a mobile veterans’ center, information about numerous local organizations and military displays.
In the evening, a veterans tribute concert will continue the celebration. Tickets will be $25, or $20 for veterans. The concert will include country artists Gary Pratt and Kate Szallar and the Pratt & Szallar Band.

‘Seussical’ at Greensburg Civic Theatre
Enter the magical world of Dr. Seuss with the musical “Seussical” this weekend, the first show of Greensburg Civic Theatre’s 2025-26 season. See favorite characters including Horton, the Cat in the Hat and more during this catchy and colorful show that’s a joy for the whole family.
Shows will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $20 in advance and $23 at the door, with discounts for seniors and students.
