Now that Memorial Day has passed, we’re unofficially in summer! Here are some things to do to celebrate the season his weekend.

Community Festival and Poker Run

From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Westmoreland Heritage Trail will present a community festival and poker run.

Register Saturday at the Murrysville Community Center, 3091 Carson Ave., Murrysville, for the four-mile run or 12-mile bike ride. Registration will be $30 day-of. The festival will also include food and ice cream, beer, raffles and more.

Boy Band tribute at Live Casino

Fans of ’90s acts including the Backstreet Boys, New Kids on the Block, Boyz II Men and ‘NSYNC can head over to Live Casino Pittsburgh this Saturday.

Larger Than Life is billed as “the No. 1 boy band experience in the country.” The group sings, dances and performs in the style of these classic groups. They even go back as far as the Jackson 5, the Four Seasons and the Temptations to delight a whole other generation of attendees.

The show starts at 7 p.m. at The Venue Live, Westmoreland Mall, 5260 US-30, Greensburg. Tickets are $25-$35 and can be purchased at pittsburgh.livecasinohotel.com.

Yard and craft sale

Harrold Zion Lutheran Church, 671 Baltzer Meyer Pike, Greensburg, will host a community yard and craft vendor sale in its parking lot this Saturday.

The sale will carry on rain or shine from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Vendors will sell crafts and other items throughout the event.

Amp Up Your Summer Concert

Free music is also out there this weekend! Saturday’s free event will be held in Hempfield at the Smail Auto Group Amphitheater, 220 Forbes Trail Road.

The artist performing on Saturday is Willow Hill, who are described as modernized country, “Lady Gaga meets Kenny Chesney.”

Refreshments will be available to purchase from Earth Wheel & Fire food truck and Kona Ice. Admission to the event is free.

Van Halen tribute

This Friday, the Lamp Theatre will host “the ultimate Van Halen tribute” with Completely Unchained. They perform Van Halen music with the same electric energy and attitude as the original band, live and in person.
