Greensburg Garden Center is offering a way to prepare for the holidays while enjoying an evening of pre-holiday fun, with a Perfect Holiday Party from 6-9 p.m. Oct. 21 at Greensburg Country Club in Hempfield.

“The concept is to prepare you, whether you’re holding a party or going to a party,” said GGC co-president Carla Rusnica. “It will be fashions, florals, food and fun.”

Guests will arrive to find samples of both red and white wines from Raspberry Acres Winery at their place settings. They will be able to choose a glass of either to enjoy or purchase a bottle to share during the evening. Laurie Corbett, a representative of the Blairsville winery, will discuss choosing wines to suit the palate or complement a holiday menu.

A plate of hors d’oeuvres prepared by the club’s executive chef will be served to each guest, while the chef discusses them. Recipes will be printed in the evening’s program.

“There will probably be about eight hors d’oeurves,” Rusnica said.

Following the food service, Victoria Piekut, owner of Wight Elephant Boutique and Miss Pennsylvania 2020, will present the boutique’s regularly scheduled Thursday night Facebook fashion show. Models will stroll among the tables wearing holiday fashion trends from the boutique collection.

Gary Pratt, owner of Le Jardin Florals and Home Accents in Greensburg, then will demonstrate how to create a seasonal entrance piece and table arrangement.

Pratt, who also is an award-winning country singer/songwriter, will wrap up the evening with a musical performance.

“He has a new album out, so we were fortunate to get him before Nashville calls,” Rusnica said.

Guests also will be able to browse vendor merchandise and sample sweets from Sharon’s Cookies and McFeeley’s Chocolates and place holiday orders.

Raffle items will include a mani-pedi-facial package from Spa 309 Salon & Boutique in Greensburg; a Steelers tailgate party package including two tickets to the Nov. 8 game at Heinz Field; a golf foursome and separate Sunday brunch at the country club; a fire pit; Spode Christmas decorations, and a 4-foot tree decorated by garden center members.

Party reservations are needed by Oct. 19. A ticket is $60.
