I-70 lane restrictions planned for Yukon area
Motorists traveling Interstate 70 between Yukon and Madison — exits 53 and 54 — will have to drive through lane-restricted areas next week, PennDOT said.
There will be a single lane of travel in both directions while crews demolish the median barrier and install a temporary barrier. Work from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. is set to begin Feb. 24 and continue through Feb. 27; work from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. will be held Feb. 28 through March 1, PennDOT said.
Trumbull Corp. of Pittsburgh was awarded a $92.8 million contract to reconstruct and widen the 1.5-mile stretch of highway in Sewickley and South Huntingdon townships. Trumbull is expected to begin the work this construction season and it could continue through 2022, said Jay Ofsanik, PennDOT spokesman.
