The president and captain of the Grandview Volunteer Fire Department in Penn Township cruised to the Republican nomination as a candidate for commissioner in the township’s Fourth Ward, based on unofficial results from Tuesday’s primary.
Chuck Miller, 41, captured 74% of the vote in bid for the nomination against incumbent Timothy Gwynn, 54, who was seeking his third term on the board.
The 4th Ward includes portions of ZIP codes 15642 for Irwin, 15636 for Harrison City and 15085 for Trafford, including the neighborhoods of Sunrise Estates, Rose Acres, Sandy Hill Meadows, Penntowne, Country View area, Paintertown, Brook Haven, The Willows, Golden Heights Personal Care Home, Cortina Marie and Frank Court North.
Incumbent Commissioner Linda Zaucha, also a Republican, was unopposed in the primary in the 2nd Ward.
