Irwin will host an ethnic food festival on June 13.

Irwin will have an Ethnic Food Day featuring haluski, brats, tacos, Italian meatballs, Japanese cheesecake and other delicacies at downtown restaurants on June 13, while maintaining social distancing now that Westmoreland County has moved into the green phase of covid-19 restrictions

The event, set for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., or until the restaurants close, will be held at 14 eateries from Brandy’s at 200 Main St. , to the Cheesecake Caffe at 512 Main St., according to the Irwin Business & Professional Association, which is sponsoring the fair. Inside seating will be limited, but curbside takeout will be available. There will no outdoor food booths.

A limited number of craft booths will be set up in downtown parking lots. Booths will be spaced to comply with pandemic safety guidelines.

Mikey D, an accordion player whose Balkan trio traditionally plays at the ethnic festival, will perform from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
