The city of Pittsburgh may have canceled its annual St. Patrick’s Day parade, but Irwin plans to carry on Saturday with its festival that features traditional Irish food, libations and music.

Several restaurants in downtown Irwin from noon to 5 p.m. will sell Irish food, according to the Irwin Business and Professional Association, organizer of the event. The Colonial Grille Tap Room, New Crescent Brewery and Brandy’s, all on Main Street, will have beers. The Laurel Highlands Meadery at 106 Fourth St., will serve alcohol as well.

The first 100 people to visit St. Patrick at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 Main St., will receive a derby-style hat, a bead necklace or a rubber snake. Photos with St. Patrick will be available.

There will be a shamrock hunt with prizes. One shamrock and prize per person. Each shamrock will have a number and can be turned in at Feathers Artist Market and Gifts at 102 Fourth St., for a prize. Free children’s crafts will be available at Feathers.

Music will be performed from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Brandy’s, Main Street, and at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.

There will be Irish karaoke at 320 Main St..

Green carnations for $1 will be sold on 5th and Main streets, from noon until they are sold out.
