Jay Leno visited Hempfield restaurant after fall

The show must go on. And, so too, must lunch.

Celebrity talk show host Jay Leno reportedly visited Hempfield’s The Boulevard restaurant after injuring himself in a fall last week.

The Boulevard owner Bobbi Lynn Frye in an email told TribLive Leno had lunch at the restaurant after his fall and ate in the bar area before a Nov. 15 performance at The Palace Theatre Greensburg. He dined alone, Frye said, and ordered chicken parmesan.

According to “Inside Edition,” the former “Tonight Show” host showed up at the restaurant without a reservation.

“Inside Edition” reported Leno, 74, stayed at a local Hampton Inn and decided to walk to the restaurant. Leno apparently fell down a hill en route, badly bruising his face and eye and breaking his wrist.

“I said, ‘Well the hill doesn’t look that steep,’ ” Leno said in an “Inside Edition” clip.

The Boulevard general manager Bill Erhard told “Inside Edition” that Leno ordered chicken parmesan: a hand-breaded chicken patty with homemade sauce and a side of garlic toast.

“Inside Edition” also reported Leno had stopped by a local CVS to purchase an eye patch. He took a selfie with a CVS cashier before performing at The Palace Theatre while wearing the eye patch.

This happened in Pennsylvania.

He fell right before he performed.

He was still hilarious!

Daniel Stainer, director of marketing for the Westmoreland Cultural Trust, earlier this week told TribLive that Leno was a “classy professional.”

“The poor guy falls down the hill four hours before the show, and he still puts on the show,” Stainer said. “The saying goes, ‘the show must go on,’ and he did it.”
