Jeannette City Council is no longer looking for a new member.

After submitting his resignation Sunday, Councilman Chad Krawtz changed his mind. He submitted a withdrawal of his resignation Wednesday, said city solicitor Tim Witt.

Krawtz, 47, a Republican, said Friday he decided to stay on council.

“The community support to stick with it was overwhelming and invigorating,” he said. “It fired me up to stay the course and move things forward in a positive direction.”

He was appointed to council in June 2022 to fill a vacant seat created by the death of Ron Smith. There were eight eligible applicants for the vacant seat.

That term ended in December and he ran unopposed in 2023, winning a new four-year term.
