Santa makes his way down Clay Avenue during Jeannette’s annual Sparkle of Christmas parade on Saturday, Dec. 2, 2023.

The Sparkle of Christmas parade and event in Jeannette brought holiday cheer, and Santa, to town Saturday.

There was a large interest this year in participating in the parade, which strode down Clay Avenue, according to organizers. The parade was led by grand marshal Jackie Oskin, who organizers said ran a preschool center for many years.

The Sparkle of Christmas event was held on South Fifth Street and inside the Jeannette American Legion. There were food trucks, crafts and baked goods. Santa made an appearance there after the parade, and handmade stockings stuffed with donated goodies were handed out.
