A Jeannette man pleaded guilty in federal court Tuesday to possession of nearly 5 ounces of cocaine.

Tristin B. Axton, 25, of Jeannette, pleaded guilty in connection with a case originating in March 2023, when he was found in possession of 139 grams of cocaine. Axton was on federal release stemming from a 2018 conviction on heroin distribution charges.

Axton also pleaded guilty to harassment in October 2022 stemming from a January 2022 break-in at a Jeannette home.

During his federal guilty plea, U.S. Attorney Eric Olshan said Axton also acknowledged responsibility for charges of driving under the influence and other traffic violations in 2021 and 2022.

Axton is scheduled for sentencing on Feb. 20, 2024. He faces up to 20 years in prison and/or a fine up to $1 million.

Axton’s supervised release was revoked and he was ordered into the custody of U.S. Marshals to be detained until sentencing.
