A man who police accuse of dealing crack and cocaine out of a Jeannette home posted $50,000 bond Monday, according to online court records.

Michael Larrell Jackson, 29, of Jeannette, was arrested Friday on drug and related charges after, police say, they made an undercover drug purchase at a North Eighth Street apartment.

City police and agents from the state attorney general’s office worked around 3 p.m. with a confidential informant to make a purchase from Jackson, according to court papers. The drugs brought back to investigators tested positive for cocaine, according to court papers.

Afterwards, police continued surveillance of the apartment and, when Jackson left, they conducted a traffic stop. It was unclear from court papers the reason for the stop. Jackson is cited for not having a valid drivers license and improper window tinting.

Police said he was in possession of $270 and crack cocaine. Authorities said they seized nearly 5 grams of crack cocaine, 3 grams of cocaine, $428 and other items through a search warrant at the North Eighth Street apartment.

Jackson told investigators he sold crack to three people that day, according to court papers. A March 11 preliminary hearing is set. He did not have an attorney listed in online court records.

Jackson was sentenced in January 2020 to one year less a day to two years less a day in the Westmoreland County Prison followed by a year of probation on drug charges filed by Greensburg police in a 2018 incident, according to online court records. It was unclear when he was paroled on those charges.

He was convicted of an offense in another state that requires him to register as a sex offender under Megan’s Law, according to state police.
