Jeannette City School Board is seeking a new member after approving a resignation Monday.

Superintendent Matthew Jones said the vacancy left by Jennifer Rager’s departure will be filled by a board appointment. The open seat runs through December 2023.

Anyone interested in the seat should send a letter of interest and qualifications to Jones by Aug. 12. Directors could consider appointing a new member to the board at the Aug. 16 meeting.

The board also approved on Monday the appointment of former director Kelly Marquis to join the group. She will finish out the term that belonged to Mycal Jones. He resigned in June and his term is set to expire later this year.
