A Jeannette woman was jailed Thursday in connection with police accusations that she hit a woman with her SUV.

Jenna Ann Pippins, 23, is charged with aggravated assault by vehicle, reckless endangerment and related offenses in the Sunday incident.

Jeannette police said in court papers that the injured woman, who previously was in a relationship with the suspect, reported Pippins followed her around for hours until a confrontation on Guy Street around 4:30 a.m. Pippins drove off in her Subaru Outback, running over the woman, according to authorities.

The woman went to a hospital for treatment. Police said she had several abrasions that appeared to be road rash and her foot was swollen and bruised. Clothing she was wearing at the time was bloody, police said.

Pippins was being held at the Westmoreland County Prison on $50,000 bail. She did not have an attorney listed in online court records. A June 27 preliminary hearing is set.
