Three blocks of Clay Avenue in Jeannette are set to be shut down Saturday for the annual Glass City Heritage Festival.

The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is sponsored by the Jeannette Business Association.

During that time, there will be performances by the Jeannette Community Band and Music by David Stout. In addition, there will be a children’s coat giveaway, food, crafters, vendors and painting and pottery demonstrations, among other activities.

Mutual Aid EMS and Jeannette firefighters will be in attendance. Police dogs Kilo and Diesel will be with their handlers at 11:30 a.m. and Inky’s Library Mystery will begin at 2:15 p.m.

The event celebrates Jeannette’s history in glass production, as it was once home to several glass factories, earning it the nickname “The Glass City.”
