Jobe leads both party races for Greensburg Salem School Board
Incumbent Lynn Jobe appears to have won a tight eight-way race for four Greensburg Salem School Board nominations on both party ballots, with all of the precincts reporting.
Jobe received 1,513 Democratic votes, followed by 1,478 for Sara Deegan, 1,282 for incumbent Lynna Thomas, 960 for Autumn Jevicky, 831 for Emily Miller, 816 for incumbent Jeff Metrosky, 794 for Desmond Grace and 666 for Heather Shearer, according to unofficial returns.
Jobe garnered 1,645 votes from Republicans, with Metrosky receiving 1,402, Miller 1,068, Shearer 877, Thomas 834, Deegan 677, Jevicky 653 and Grace 434.
Jobe, 60, of Salem is a district retiree who served 35 years as a teacher, coach and athletic director. She was appointed to the school board in March 2020.
Metrosky, 54, of Greensburg, is a two-term incumbent who is vice president of the school board. He is a materials coordinator for Dura-Metal Products Corp.
Thomas, 53, of Southwest Greensburg, is completing her first term on the board. She is a special populations counselor at Westmoreland County Community College who previously worked in public schools.
Jevicky, 41, of Greensburg, is a Greensburg Salem graduate and parent who works as a precision medicine oncology diagnostics manager.
Shearer, 41, of Southwest Greensburg, works in medical billing and is raising two children who are district students.
Miller, 43, is a Salem homemaker who has enrolled two of her children in the district while educating two others at home. She serves on a district parent advisory council.
Grace 42, of Greensburg, is an elder care advocate making a repeat bid for a school board seat.
Deegan, 41, of Greensburg, is a community engagement librarian for Greensburg-Hempfield Area Library. She developed her campaign platform with the support of Voice of Westmoreland, a nonpartisan grassroots activist organization.
School board President Ronald Mellinger Jr. is not seeking another term.
