On Wednesday, artists began painting and drawing at scenic locations throughout the community. Their completed works are to be dropped off between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday at Latrobe Art Center, 819 Ligonier St. Each registered artist may submit as many works as the want.

The submissions will be on display at the center from May 1-6.

Awards will include a best in show prize of $50 and an additional honorable mention prize of $25.

Popular locations for artists to paint include the Arnold Palmer Regional Airport, DiSalvo’s Station restaurant, Legion Keener Park, Twin Lakes Park, Loyalhanna Creek, Saint Vincent College and the Winnie Palmer Nature Reserve.
