A chain of lane restrictions on two heavily-traveled Westmoreland County highways will begin Monday morning.
All of the work is related to overhead signs that warn motorists of upcoming red lights. PennDOT officials said the work will be either to retrofit existing signals or install new ones.
One lane will be closed in each direction Monday at the intersection of Route 30 and Center Highway in North Huntingdon. A similar closure that day will begin east of there on Route 30, between Frye Farm Road and Lewis Road in Unity. Motorists should expect delays. The work is set to take place between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.
After that work is completed, lanes will be closed in various spots of Route 30 in Irwin and Greensburg and on Route 22 in New Alexandria and Salem. Officials not provide specific dates for those locations but said the closures could continue through the end of April.
