Latrobe residents will soon be able to pay city garbage bills and other fees online.

Council on Monday approved a five-year agreement with Invoice Cloud to process online credit card payments.

City manager Terry Carcella said the company will enable residents to pay their trash bills online for the first time.

The system should be up and running by March, he said.

Council also adopted a 2024 budget the keeps the tax rate unchanged at 21.5 mills.

However, the $7.2 million budget increases trash collection and zoning permit fees in 2024, as previously approved by council.

There will be a 2% garbage rate hike for residential customers and a 5% hike for commercial customers in 2024 — based on a rate increase from Latrobe’s collector, Republic Services, for a one-year contract extension.

Roll-off box rates for the 10 cubic yard and 30 cubic yard options will increase as well, to 6 cents for each additional pound and $65 per ton for weight over 5 tons, respectively. The 15 cubic yard box rate will not increase.
