Latrobe Police are looking for a man who robbed a gas station at gunpoint Sunday afternoon.

The man went inside the BP on Lloyd Avenue at about 3:45 p.m.

“He pointed a handgun at the clerk and demanded money and cigarettes,” said Beth Straka, community service officer. “He forced a male customer behind the counter at gunpoint.”

No one was hurt, she said.

The suspect fled with cash and Newport cigarettes. Investigators released surveillance photos of him Tuesday in hopes that a member of the public will recognize him.

The suspect is a white man standing about 5 feet-8 inches to 5 feet-10 inches tall. He was wearing blue jeans, black shoes, a black hooded sweatshirt, a blue bandanna covering his face and a light-colored baseball cap. A photo of the man’s wedding ring was included in the images.

He may have fled in a light tan or gold SUV, police said. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-537-5526 or send a private message through the department’s Facebook page.
