Latrobe Art Center is asking Westmoreland residents to spread kindness with specially designed “You’ve Been Fred Roger-ed” note cards.

The center is celebrating the third annual Week of Kindness through May 27. During the week, participating individuals and organizations are instructed to use the “You’ve Been Fred Roger-ed” cards while performing intentional acts of kindness.

Born and raised in Latrobe, Fred Rogers was the creator, composer, host and puppeteer of the award-winning PBS television program “Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood,” which emphasized kindness, compassion and learning. He died in 2003 but the city continues to celebrate his legacy.

One side of each card contains information about the event and instructs recipients on what to do next. The other side features works of art by some of the center’s member artists, who submitted pieces responding to the prompt “What does kindness look like?” S

Anyone can join the event by picking up cards at Latrobe Art Center or any other partner location.

For more information, visit latrobeartcenter.org or visit the Latrobe Art Center, 819 Ligonier St., during regular operating hours.
