Latrobe counselor accused of paying teen girl to see nude photos
Police arrested a Latrobe therapist on accusations he paid a girl he was counseling in order to see nude photographs of her, according to court papers.
Gregory Patrick Miscik, 59, of Salem, was charged Friday with trafficking, sexual abuse of children, child pornography, corruption of minors, indecent assault and harassment. He is free on $5,000 unsecured bail.
Latrobe police said two teenage girls who were seeing Miscik regularly for counseling services reported encounters during some of their sessions. He allegedly paid a 13-year-old girl $60 in 2018 to see three nude photographs she took of herself on an electronic device, according to court papers.
The girl told police that Miscik asked her repeatedly to see the photos and she refused until he offered her money. Police said Miscik asked her to take more photographs for him and he continued to pay her.
A second girl, who was 16 last year, told police Miscik repeatedly made comments on her appearance and in December hit her buttocks with a manila envelope he was holding while he walked behind her, according to court papers. The girl told police the comments made her feel uncomfortable.
Attorney Tim Andrews said Miscik has an “impeccable reputation” and intends to fight the charges. Miscik does not have an arrest record.
“He adamantly denies the allegations,” Andrews said.
Miscik has been a licensed counselor since 2006, according to Department of State records. His license was last renewed in 2019 and expires in February. He was ordered to not have contact with any juvenile as part of his bond conditions.
A preliminary hearing is set for Nov. 23.
