A Johnstown man pleaded guilty Tuesday to charges he robbed a Latrobe convenience store last March.
Police said Cory J. Lonsinger, 38, wore a hooded sweatshirt, gloves and had his face covered with a black bandana when he threatened a clerk at the Lloyd Avenue BP gas station on March 8 and stole $179.
According to Westmoreland County court records, police received anonymous tips that Lonsinger was the robber and, while under questioning, admitted to the crime. Lonsinger told police he needed money because he had recently been evicted from his home and his girlfriend was pregnant with their second child.
Prosecutors dismissed a more serious robbery count as well as charges of theft and making terroristic threats.
In court on Tuesday, Lonsinger was sentenced by Judge Tim Krieger to serve two to four years in prison and two additional years on probation.
