A Latrobe man pleaded guilty to assaulting his live-in girlfriend.

Jeremiah Camorote, 42, was sentenced to serve one year on probation and ordered by Common Pleas Court Judge Tim Krieger to complete an anger management course.

Camorote pleaded guilty to simple assault. Prosecutors dismissed a more serious allegation of strangulation.

Police said that during a fight with his live-in girlfriend on Dec. 30, Camorote grabbed her by the shoulders and threw her onto a bed, where heplaced both hands around her neck before he struck her head with his elbow.
