Seventh graders from Greater Latrobe Junior High on Wednesday participated in the school’s annual S.T.E.A.M. Day at Rotary Park.
This is the third year the school has held the event, which focuses on activities based on science, technology, engineering, arts and math.
“We came up with the event because we noticed kids weren’t getting outside enough,” said teacher Patrick Roberts. “They’re getting exposure to things they normally wouldn’t see in their daily curriculum.”
The day-long event this year was sponsored by the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy, Forbes State Forest, Trout Unlimited, Massaro Law, Loyalhanna Watershed Association and Penn State University.
