A 59-year-old woman from Latrobe died after a two-vehicle, head-on crash in Unity Saturday night, authorities said.

Authorities identified the woman as Kimberly M. Ohler.

The crash happened around 11:15 p.m. on Route 981. According to state police, Ohler was driving a Volkswagen SUV south on Route 981 when she entered the north lane of travel and hit head-on a Hyundai SUV being driven by Rhian R. Ward, 22, of New Alexandria.

Ohler was taken to Independence Health System Latrobe Hospital, where a hospital physician pronounced her deceased, according to the Westmoreland County Coroner’s office.

Ohler, who was not wearing a seat belt, died from blunt force injuries, the corner said.

Ward suffered minor injuries, but he declined being taken to a hospital, state police said.
