Laurel Highlands photo contest adds 'Pour Tour' category
The Laurel Highlands Visitors Bureau is launching its 2020 Laurel Highlands Photo Contest, and adding a new category this year — Laurel Highlands Pour Tour.
The category includes craft beer, wine and spirits and the people and places that produce them, according to a release.
The Visitors Bureau announced the Pour Tour in October.
The tour encourages support of 31 regional craft beverage makers throughout Westmoreland, Fayette and Somerset counties.
Returning contest categories include People (portraits and experiences); Plants and Animals (nature); and Places (attractions and landscapes).
Only photos taken in the Laurel Highlands (Westmoreland, Somerset or Fayette counties) will be eligible, the release adds.
A panel of judges will select the top images, which will be published in the bureau’s 2021 Destination Guide, on the bureau’s website and displayed in special exhibits throughout the Laurel Highlands.
First place in each of the four categories will receive $500; second place, $200; and third place, $100. Winning photos may also be featured on the bureau’s social media, billboards and more.
Contestants are asked to attach one high-quality image per submission. Participants may submit an unlimited number of images for the contest.
Photos of private property are not eligible. Black and white photos will not be accepted.
Submission deadline is July 31.
