PennDOT will be holding two simultaneous events at Jeannette City Hall on Monday to help motorists stay safe.

Officials will help motorists have their damaged or illegible license plates replaced. Damage can include peeling or discoloration and a license plate is consider illegible if one or more letters or numbers can’t be read from 50 feet away.

Those in attendance can place orders for new plates.

Also, officials will assist motorists in completing Yellow Dot kits to help emergency responders know vital information about medical care and contacts in the event of a crash. A sticker placed in a vehicle’s window lets emergency responders know to check a vehicle’s glove compartment for pertinent information.

Anyone wishing to participate in the program should bring a list of medications and emergency contacts. The events will be held 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
