Ligonier Valley Police warned area residents Tuesday of a possible phone scam in the form of a bogus charitable solicitation.

Police reported several area residents were solicited recently for donations to an area firefighter’s association that is believed to be a scam.

“Ligonier Fire Companies and police never call you and solicit donations,” police said in message posted on the department’s Facebook page.
