Ligonier Valley Writers’ Student Poetry Contest extends deadline

Ligonier Valley Writers’ 32nd annual Student Poetry Contest has extended its deadline to Friday. Students in fourth through 12th grade throughout Southwestern Pennsylvania are able to enter their best poems for a chance to win cash prizes.

In each of nine categories, first prize earns $25, second prize $20 and third prize $15. For the Naccarato Award, the poem voted best in each grade group, each of the three winners will receive $30.

Contest rules and entry forms are posted at LVWonline.org. Previous years’ winning poems are featured on the website. Homeschooled students are able to enter. This year, submissions are only accepted through email.
