Greensburg has a new beer distributor.
Mad Scientist Beer, located at 990 N. Main St., followed a recent soft opening with an official grand opening Thursday.
It’s located in the Route 66 Plaza, next to the Shop ’n Save.
Greensburg has other beer distributors, but none on the north side of the city, said Mad Scientist owner Melinda Charley.
“Everyone is really excited about the location of the store,” she said.
The store is named after Charley’s previous career as a forensic scientist.
Charley said her goal is to make the store inviting — well-lit, well-organized and with a wide selection of beers.
The building used to house a Rite Aid, which moved down the street about eight years ago, said Tom Charley, Melinda’s husband and co-owner of Charley Family Shop ’n Save. Since then, the space had been used as storage for the adjoining grocery store.
