A man accused of assaulting a 41-year-old man in his Mt. Pleasant home Monday was jailed Wednesday after he was accused of calling and threatening to harm him.
Roger C. Strautmann, 30, of Greensburg. was arraigned Wednesday on two counts of intimidating a witness and single counts of simple assault, harassment and making terroristic threats filed by borough police.
Strautmann is accused of repeatedly punching the man Monday morning inside his home on Vine Street, according to officer Justin James.
James reported in court documents that the man said the assault was unprovoked. James said ambulance personnel were called to treat the man for multiple head injuries.
James said the man received a telephone call from Strautmann Tuesday, telling him “that was my first lesson.”
Later, the man said he received a second call from Strautmann, who was staying at a hotel in New Stanton, telling him that he better “watch yourself… I will kill you.”
Strautman was arraigned before District Judge Herbert Mitchell Jr. and ordered held in the county prison after failing to post $5,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is Feb. 27.
