Man arrested after car, foot chase near Westmoreland County Airshow
A man who fled from a state police traffic stop on Route 30 near the entrance to Saint Vincent College was caught after jumping the fence at the Arnold Palmer Regional Airport during the airshow.
State and Westmoreland County Park said the man drove his car off the road and into a field near woods that border the airport.
Airport Spokesman Dwayne Pickels said he did not go onto the tarmac of the airport.
The suspect fled back into the woods and was caught by state police.
Westmoreland County Park Police, using K-9 Rex, flushed him out of woods. About a dozen state and county officers were involved in the search.
A state police trooper at the scene declined to comment.
The suspect’s car was towed from the scene.
