Man dies after striking object with vehicle in Rostraver

A man died after the truck he was driving struck an object Monday on Route 51 in Rostraver.

The fatal vehicle accident occurred at about 10 a.m. in the northbound lanes before Willowbrook Road, Rostraver police said.

First responders found Wayne P. Janczewski Jr., 60, of Irwin, unresponsive in a white Ford pickup truck in the median. Police did not identify the object Janczewski hit.

He was taken to Allegheny General Hospital, where he died, according to the Allegheny County medical examiner.

Rostraver police and the Westmoreland County District Attorney’s Office will investigate the incident.
